Army Chief: Strengthening the Army - The Main Focus for 2021
KUALA LUMPUR: The Chief of Army (COA), Gen Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain explained that 2021 is the year of Strengthening for the Malaysian Army (MA) which will focus on the aspects of Operation, Administration and Logistics so that the vision and mission of the MA can be implemented more effectively.
"Apart from continuing its efforts to acquire strategic assets to complement the ability to operate in the two regions simultaneously, the MA will focus on improving aspects of security management including improving existing policies and directives.
"Security is an aspect that will be given attention either in the form of physical security or information security," he explained.
COA said this while presenting the New Year Mandate 2021 through a video conference at the COA Office on 29 Jan 2021.
He added that MA will focus on fulfilling the combat needs and personal equipment of personnel to 100 percent.
“This personal equipment is an important aspect because it is an important element in moral preservation of personnel to increase the level of readiness of the MA in carrying out each mission.
"In addition, the MA will continue its organizational restructuring initiatives to improve operational and administrative effectiveness whose focus is on deploying assets and human resources to enable simultaneously operations in two regions," he said.
Earlier, COA expressed its appreciation and gratitude to all TD staff for their high commitment in implementing each action plan to realize the 28th COA Order based on the Three Principles and Five Pillars (3P + 5T).
He explained that the action plans that have been drafted have shown positive achievements even though the country is facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, COA also recalled the four main achievements of the MA in 2020, namely the success of realizing the holistic structuring of MA, the effectiveness of operations carried out by MA in assisting the government, moral protection of MA personnel through welfare initiatives and the launch of MA Anti-Corruption Plan Book.
COA also expressed gratitude to see the Five Pillars in its COA Order in line with the strategic goals outlined by the Senior Minister of Defence and also the aspirations to be achieved by the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
In the message, CDF also announced the theme of the 88th Malaysian Army Day celebration, namely the Army and People Synergy: the Pillars of National Sovereignty where close ties between the military and the people are important to support the five Pillars of the 28th CDF Order.
“This strong cooperation will ensure that the MA achieves mission continuity and vigilance, remain a strong organisation and preserves the welfare and well-being of the people.
"Besides that, it can strengthen defence relations with regional and international countries as well as gain confidence and recognition from the people through cooperation," he explained.
Before concluding his message, he called on all MA staff to remain positive and committed so that the MA becomes a force that is respected and trusted by the people to face the challenging year 2021 that is coupled with the country's situation still plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Perkukuh Ketumbukan TD Fokus Utama Tahun 2021 -PTD
KUALA LUMPUR: Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD), Jen Tan Sri Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain menjelaskan tahun 2021 merupakan Tahun Pengukuhan bagi Tentera Darat (TD) yang akan menumpukan kepada aspek Gerakan, Tadbir dan Logistik agar visi dan misi TD dapat dilaksanakan dengan lebih berkesan.
“Selain daripada meneruskan usaha memperolehi aset-aset strategik bagi melengkapkan keupayaan untuk beroperasi di dua wilayah secara serentak, TD akan menumpukan kepada peningkatan aspek pengurusan keselamatan termasuk menambah baik polisi serta direktif sedia ada.
“Keselamatan adalah aspek yang akan diberi perhatian sama ada berbentuk keselamatan fizikal mahupun keselamatan maklumat,” jelasnya.
PTD berkata demikian semasa menyampaikan Amanat Tahun Baharu 2021 secara sidang video di Pejabat PTD pada 29 Jan 2021.
Tambah beliau lagi, TD akan memberi tumpuan bagi memperlengkapkan keperluan tempur dan peralatan persendirian anggota ke tahap 100 peratus.
“Kelengkapan persendirian ini adalah aspek penting kerana ianya merupakan elemen penting dalam pemeliharaan moral anggota bagi meningkatkan tahap kesiagaan warga TD dalam melaksanakan setiap misi.
“Selain itu, TD akan meneruskan inisiatif penstrukturan organisasi bagi meningkatkan keberkesanan operasi serta pentadbiran yang mana tumpuannya adalah menempatkan aset dan sumber manusia agar membolehkan keupayaan beroperasi secara serentak di dua wilayah,” katanya.
Terdahulu dari itu, PTD mengucapkan penghargaan dan terima kasih kepada seluruh warga TD kerana telah memberikan komitmen yang tinggi dalam melaksanakan setiap pelan tindakan bagi merealisasikan Perintah Ulung PTD Ke-28 yang berasaskan Tiga Prinsip dan Lima Tonggak (3P+5T).
Beliau menjelaskan pelan-pelan tindakan yang dirangka telah menampakkan pencapaian yang positif walaupun negara berhadapan dengan pandemik COVID-19.
Selain itu, PTD turut mengimbau empat pencapaian utama TD pada tahun 2020 iaitu kejayaan merealisasikan penstrukturan TD secara holistik, keberkesanan operasi yang dilaksanakan oleh TD di dalam membantu kerajaan, pemeliharaan moral warga TD melalui inisiatif kebajikan dan pelancaran Buku Pelan Anti Rasuah TD.
PTD juga melahirkan rasa kesyukuran melihatkan Lima Tonggak dalam Perintah Ulungnya berada seiring dengan matlamat strategik yang digariskan oleh Menteri Kanan Pertahanan dan juga aspirasi yang ingin dicapai oleh Panglima Angkatan Tentera (PAT).
Dalam amanat tersebut, PTD turut mengumumkan tema sambutan Hari TD Ke-88 iaitu Sinergi Tentera Darat Dan Rakyat: Tunjang Kedaulatan Negara yang mana hubungan erat tentera dan rakyat adalah penting bagi mendukung kelima-lima Tonggak Perintah Ulung PTD Ke-28.
“Kerjasama kukuh ini akan memastikan TD mencapai kelangsungan misi dan kesiagaan, mempunyai sebuah organisasi yang utuh serta melestari aspek kebajikan dan kesejahteraan warga.
“Selain itu dapat mengukuhkan hubungan pertahanan dengan negara serantau dan antarabangsa serta memperolehi keyakinan dan pengiktirafan daripada rakyat melalui kerjasama yang dijalin,” jelasnya lagi.
Sebelum mengakhiri amanatnya, beliau menyeru agar semua warga TD terus positif dan komited agar ketumbukan ini menjadi sebuah angkatan yang disegani dan diyakini rakyat bagi menghadapi tahun 2021 yang penuh cabaran ditambah pula dengan keadaan negara yang masih dibelenggu pandemik COVID-19.
