First Royal Malaysian Navy Officer Recognised as ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE)



Lieutenant Ir. Ts. Muhammad Syahir bin Badruddin RMN N/405126, an RMN Junior Officer has created history by becoming the first RMN Engineering Officer successfully recognised as a South East Asia (ASEAN) Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE). This means that officers can approve an engineering design in a recognised field for a project in ASEAN countries, or work in ASEAN countries as a Registered Foreign Professional Engineer (RFPE).

He is qualified as a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers (BEM) Malaysia. He is the 6th RMN Engineering Officer in the service of His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong who has a First Class Honors, after the following officers:

1. Captain (Retired) Ir. Sukhdev Singh RMN. 

2. Captain (Retired) Wan Kong Seng RMN

3. RADM Datuk Ir. Ts. Hj Mohd Shaiful Adli Chung (Ship Diver)

4. Commander (Retired) Ir. Chan Ling Ket TLDM (Submariner). 

5. Lt Cdr Yulis Hayat Mhd Yusop TLDM (Submariner)

More proudly, although still young, due to the initiative and hard work, Lieutenant Ir. Ts. Muhammad Syahir bin Badruddin has successfully obtained a Master in Electrical Engineering (Sustainable Energy) from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) with a CGPA of 4.0. On top of this excellence, he was named the best graduate of UMP during the convocation (Best Student in the Engineering Category) in 2019. So far, he often appears as the best participant in almost every course he participates, military or academic courses.

In addition to the outstanding achievements as stated, Lieutenant Ir. Ts. Muhammad Syahir bin Badruddin is also active in sports, especially Extreme Sports. Among the events he has participated in are the World Series - The Powerman Asia Duathlon Championships 11km Run, 60km Bike and 10km Run in 2007 in Malaysia. The outstanding achievement of Lieutenant Ir. Ts. Muhammad Syahir made the RMN very proud, and is an example and inspiration to the people


Leftenan Ir. Ts. Muhammad Syahir bin Badruddin TLDM N/405126, seorang Pegawai Muda TLDM telah mencipta sejarah iaitu Pegawai Kejuruteraan TLDM yang pertama berjaya diiktiraf sebagai South East Asia (ASEAN) Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE). Ini bermakna pegawai boleh meluluskan sesuatu rekabentuk kejuruteraan dalam bidang yang diiktiraf untuk projek di negara ASEAN, atau bekerja di negara ASEAN sebagai Registered Foreign Professional Engineer (RFPE).  

Pegawai berkelayakan sebagai seorang Jurutera Profesional berdaftar dengan Board of Engineer (BEM) Malaysia. Beliau merupakan Pegawai Kejuruteraan TLDM ke-6 dalam perkhidmatan Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Dipertuan Agong yang memiliki Sarjana Muda Kelas Pertama (First Class Honours), selepas pegawai berikut:

1. Kepten (Bersara) Ir. Sukhdev Singh TLDM. 

2. Kepten (Bersara) Wan Kong Seng TLDM

3. Laksamana Muda Datuk Ir. Ts. Hj Mohd Shaiful Adli Chung (Ship Diver)

4. Komander (Bersara) Ir. Chan Ling Ket TLDM (Submariner). 

5. Lt Kdr Yulis Hayat Mhd Yusop TLDM (Submariner)

Lebih membanggakan, walaupun masih muda, atas inisiatif dan usaha gigih pegawai telah berjaya memperoleh Sarjana dalam Kejuruteraan Elektrik (Sustainable Energy) dari Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) dengan CGPA 4.0. Di atas kecemerlangan ini, pegawai dinobatkan sebagai graduan terbaik UMP semasa konvokesyen (Pelajar Terbaik Kategori Kejuruteraan) tahun 2019. Setakat ini, pegawai kerap muncul sebagai peserta terbaik hampir dalam setiap kursus yang beliau sertai, kursus ketenteraan atau akademik. 

Selain pencapaian cemerlang seperti dinyatakan, Pegawai juga aktif dalam sukan khususnya Sukan Lasak. Diantara acara yang telah beliau sertai ialah World Series - The Powerman Asia Duathlon Championships 11km Run, 60km Bike and 10km Run pada tahun 2007 di Malaysia. Pencapaian cemerlang Leftenan Ir.
